Alzheimer’s Disease: Understanding the Impact and Taking Steps Toward Hope

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. It is a progressive brain disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. It is not a normal part of aging, yet it touches millions of families each year.
More than 6 million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s. Behind that number are real people – parents, grandparents, spouses, and friends – slowly losing pieces of themselves to a disease that has no cure. Over 11 million Americans provide unpaid care to loved ones with dementia, often facing emotional, physical, and financial challenges.
At Senior Care Consulting & Solutions, we understand this journey personally and professionally.
Whether you’re just starting to notice memory changes in a loved one or are already deep into caregiving, having the right support and guidance makes all the difference. Understanding the stages of dementia, planning for safety, and accessing the right resources can help families navigate each step with greater confidence.
As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Lea Ann Klarner supports families every week who are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s. She also walks this journey at home. Her mother is now in her ninth year of living with dementia. For Lea Ann, this work is personal.
This year, our team at Senior Care Consulting & Solutions is proud to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®, the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support, and research.
We are walking for Lea Ann’s mother. We are walking for the families we serve. And we are walking for every person impacted by Alzheimer’s disease.
You can help in two meaningful ways:
💜 Join our team and walk with us
💜 Donate to support our fundraising efforts
Our goal is to raise $2,500. Every dollar brings us closer to better care, more support, and the hope of a future without Alzheimer’s.
Thank you for your support and for walking with us toward a better tomorrow.
